There’s no shortage of people who swear by hypnosis to help them lose weight, quit smoking, or improve their confidence. But what about erotic hypnosis, a kink that some describe as ‘the ultimate fantasy-realisation’? Last week, erotic hypnosis hit the headlines over a series of ‘intense feminisation and bimbofication’ hypnosis recordings that were used to control victims and erode their consent. This got me thinking about whether hypnokink can ever be considered safe and how some victims feel about this type of kink.

The answer is a resounding yes, as long as it’s done safely and with the victim’s best interests in mind. The key is to find a hypnotist you jive with and can trust, and work out what you both want from the experience. “A hypnotist should be able to discuss your needs, wants and desires and create a safe word with you before you begin,” Riley says. “They can also identify any words or themes that could be triggering for you, and implement the safe word into their programming.”

Hypnosis is a natural state of consciousness that most of us enter at least once in our lives. We might get absorbed in a TV show or a movie, become completely lost in the landscape of an empty highway or railway track, or lose ourselves in a daydream. The hypnotic voice of a trained hypnotist can help us deepen that trance state to access the subconscious, where repressed sexual desires and other negative thoughts can be found.

When erotic hypnosis is practiced under the right conditions, it can be highly sexually and emotionally satisfying. It can boost sensitivity during sexual encounters, encourage orgasms and increase length and intensity of climaxes, and be used as part of consensual non-consent (CNC) play to make fantasies real. It’s not for everyone, however. It can be a form of abuse or even torture when it’s manipulated by the perpetrator, as the alleged case of James* in the Bambi Sleep files showed.

Some of us might be drawn to hypnosis as a fetish because we’re attracted to power dynamics, or because we enjoy the feeling of being controlled and manipulated. Others might be aroused by the idea of a dream-like reality where our thoughts are entirely their own. It’s also possible that the way we think and act under hypnosis can be influenced by certain hormones, so there could be an erotic element to hypnosis for some.

For Lysette, this was her first time being hypnotised and she does a great job of complying with commands to do various things in a room where the camera is hidden. She stretches and does robotic movements, responds to the hypnotist’s suggestions to behave like a robot and perform a Pleasure Slave programme with him, and gets numb in her mouth and tongue while being commanded to talk. It’s all captured in this video. As she awakens, her face shows she’s had an amazing time.
